Laurel Hill is a creative concept for publishing and licensing. The concept features a charming group of characters that entertain children and make learning about nature fun. The series invites children into an enchanting, sensory and timeless world that engages their emotions and imagination.
Property Overview
Imagine a place where every living thing has its own voice, where animals and insects can speak, and even the flowers hum. Walk through the creaky gate and the child's garden at Laurel Hill is just an old, overgrown patch of plants. But one day playful, young Daphne follows her dog through the doggie door and into a world of enchantment where she learns to communicate with Nature itself.

WISE OLD BEAR
Wise Old Bear is an oral story and audio series based on teaching nature’s way.
PROPERTY OVERVIEW
Wise Old Bear embraces the notion of elder and teacher. Just as in the past when the elders of cultures would pass wisdom onto the children through storytelling---the oral stories of Wise Old Bear do the same. The stories are deeply rooted in questions about the natural world.
Wise Old Bear offers a way for parents, teachers and care givers to teach children about nature in just about any setting whether it is a classroom, a hospital room or out in nature itself.
Licensed Products
Products in this series use current technology but still hold the power of an oral storytelling tradition.
Other items in the series include soft dolls, a nature backpack, small art kits and child nature journals.

About Laurel Hill and Wise Old Bear
Laurel Hill and Wise Old Bear are creative concepts based on my work as a University of MN Master Gardener and certified Nature Educator. While working in these areas I naturally focused on children's garden and experiential nature projects. This important work helped me to understand that teaching nature lessons along with a rich complex of art and story can nurture a child's mind and heart.
